Detailed Itinerary: South Valley Tour

A journey through nature, culture, and history in three stages: Inca, Pre-Inca, and Colonial.

Pickup and Travel to Tipón

We start the day by picking you up from your hotel in Cusco around 8:30 AM. We will head southeast along the Cusco-Puno route to visit the impressive archaeological center of Tipón, an Inca complex famous for its agricultural terraces and advanced hydraulic engineering system.

Visit to Pikillacta

We will continue to Pikillacta, a large pre-Inca urban center belonging to the Wari culture. This enigmatic place will surprise you with its more than 1000 constructions, including plazas, colcas (storehouses), dwellings, and temples, showcasing remarkable urban planning.

Andahuaylillas and its Chapel

Our last stop is the colonial town of Andahuaylillas, where we will visit its famous 16th-century church, known as the "Sistine Chapel of America." Admire its impressive murals, canvases with gilded frames, and baroque altarpieces that cover the walls and ceilings.

Return to Cusco

After our visit in Andahuaylillas, we will begin the journey back to the city of Cusco. The transport will drop you off in the city center around 2:00 PM, thus concluding our half-day tour.

Free Afternoon and Recommendations

This half-day tour leaves you with a free afternoon to explore Cusco at your own pace. We recommend taking the opportunity to visit some of the city's excellent museums, such as the Inka Museum, the Museum of Pre-Columbian Art, or the Regional Historical Museum.

The tour requires the Cusco Tourist Ticket (partial or full) for entry to Tipón and Pikillacta. The entrance to the Andahuaylillas church has an additional cost. Check with your guide for more details.
